Summer is flying by; at least for me it is! My son is getting married next week (I shudder when I realize that it’s just 10 days away!) We’ll have family in town…some will be staying with us. It’s bound to be a little crazy. And even though it’s a great occasion, it’s also a little stressful! What I really need is a quiet minute to collect my thoughts. I wonder if any of you can relate? There may be plenty of women–even those in our ministry teams and women’s group– who feel the same way.
As I was thinking of what sounded refreshing to me personally, I think I stumbled on the perfect solution: A S’more’s party! All you need is a fire pit, some lawn chairs, a pot of coffee, and the “fixin’s.” This is the perfect way to slow down, reconnect with your team, and start dreaming about the upcoming year. I can hardly wait! If you need me, I’ll be the one by the fire with the melted chocolate on my face…
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Graham Crackers (regular, chocolate, or cinnamon)
- Marshmallows (the chocolate swirl ones are a fun twist!)
- Chocolate Bars (Hershey’s are traditional, but try York Peppermint Patties, Reeses’ Peanut Butter cups, Nutella, or chocolate frosting too!)
- Or if you want to go crazy, serve with white chocolate and some strawberries, bananas or other fruit of your choice!
- Paper plates and napkins
