I came across this verse the other day. I’ve read it before but this time it hit me a little differently. “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB)
I came to this verse during a conversation I was having with my oldest daughter about purity. And while that is certainly a correct way to apply the verse, it touched my own heart a bit differently. This time as I read it I was reminded that I was bought at a price. That God felt a relationship with me was so valuable that he would give his own Son to pay the penalty for my sin. And as a result of my trusting that Truth, God would give me the Holy Spirit to live in me, to guide me, and allow my body to bring God glory.
Something so profound that sometimes gets lost in my everyday living. But today I chose to take it all in and let it sink down to my core.
Our daily actions with our bodies are to glorify God. The places we go, the words we speak, the things we listen to can glorify God. We may not have a giant platform and the attention of a crowd—but everything we do, and anything we do with our bodies can glorify God. Today I’m choosing to let my body be a worship service. To focus on the opportunities, that may have otherwise gone unnoticed, to glorify God. I hope you will too!

Dear God, thank you for making your home in me. Help me honor you in all that I do, hear, and say. Amen.
