Have you ever had a frustrating day, filled with stress, grouchy people, traffic, and other annoyances?
Of course you have! I have plenty of those days when I feel like stomping around or whining or sitting in my car crying because life feels so frustrating.
What amazes me is how quickly that terrible mood can change when one tiny little thing happens. Someone says something nice to me. Something kind. Something encouraging.
It could be a sticky note left on my computer by a niece, “You’re a fun ant!” (yes, she needs to work on her spelling).
A hug from my son.
The instructor at the gym saying, “I’m glad you came to class!”
My husband texting, “I made dinner.”
Just a few words or a simple gesture and my mood is altered.
Apparently all I need is a sprinkle of encouragement to brighten my heart. Be encouraged today. As you read this, remember how much God loves you. Hear him whisper, “You’re mine!”
Let a sprinkle of encouragement bring you joy—and then turn around and sprinkle that on someone else.
“Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” Ephesians 4:29
